Just wondering if anyone has travelled from
Andamooka to
Farina around the top of
lake Torrens. I think the road (don't know name) travels through
Witchelina Stn and have heard conflicting stories about needing to by a pass etc to drive it. Does anyone know anything about this section road? Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Hughesy

Hi Hughesy

We did
Farina to
Andamooka via
Mulgaria in about June 2002 pulling camper trailer. No problems with a few sand dunes just North of
Andamooka if you have any experience. We camped near a creek about 5km past the Northern going road to Stuart Creek Opal
mine (abandoned, we visited), the road to
Mulgaria turns West-East at this point. You can also divert on a South track to the very top of
Lake Torrens ther, about 5 km.
Our camp might have been beside Stuart Creek itself, just West of the creek on the Northern side of the road - left it clean. We paid a fee ($30 ??) as we passed through
Mulgaria Station itself.

Still the same cost. There is a brochure available on the "Torrens Track" available from SA Tourism Commission.
