Xmas time it was ok for a Pajero to go up.
See if you can find out the phone number of the
Fire Tower and give them a ring.

Hi,
We did Billy Goats on Labour Day weekend (March 7th). Three Hiluxes, two of which were IFS. We made it fine. I really enjoyed the drive, as its quite challenging and steep in
places. The least capable vehicle was a standard Hilux ute running 30inch very worn Cooper ST's. He had to reverse up a couple of times and try again, but was generally ok. My Hilux with IFS and 31inch MTRs did everything first go.
Track is in reasonably good condition, but there was some big holes developing in
places. I actually thought the steepest part was before the Helipad, on the way up. It seems quite steep in
places there, plus one section has a huge hole that needs to be avoided, as the
cliff edge is very close. Also the UHF on scan is good, as there isn't many
places to pass. We found several other groups coming down as we were going up, but were able to pull over before hand.
Make sure you take a camera, absolutely wonderful scenery.

Guys try Parks Vic or DSE/DPI at
Dargo on 51401243 or Heyfield 51397777. They should be able to help with track info. Be careful as all roads/tracks around there will be very busy over
Easter. Have a good time, I'm jealous as I am on call for work and can't go too far.
