Looking to upgrade my etrex to something I can download mapsource onto (Garmin 76etc) Are these maps any good? in relation to accuratly showing secondary/tertiary tracks? I dont care if it can tell me I am on the Eyre Highway coz I can figure it out for myself. How do these maps compare to a 1:250 mapsheet for showing tracks? I realise it is no substitute for a map but it would be handy rather than read off the coordinates and work them off of a .5m x .5m map with a ruler. Opinions appreciated

Mapsource Metroguide Australia has excellent Metropolitain area mapping and good rural area mapping. I would say that it covers about 70% of the dirt tracks in NSW.

It is 48MB for all of Australia or 16MB for NSW - you select only the segments you want up to the memory size of the unit. Expect to pay about $179
