John it's pretty straight forward despite the fires although the section along the ridge just past Mt Murray is closed (was 4 weeks ago) and you will need to drop down towards Beveridge Station then back up again. They've been grading the Selwyn creek rd for logging so it's a good option. Take the side trip to Mt Murray as the views are great. Craig..........

We did it before the fires in our Suzuki Vitara - it is not difficult. There are a couple of hills that require low range but the track surface is quite good.

Agree about Mt Murray - fabulous 360 views. One of the best in the high country. Similar to Blue Rag (which is the next ridge across).

Also great views from the summit of Mt Selwyn (if it is still open), although you can't go straight through on the Twins Jeep Tk - part from the Tea Tree Range/Selwyn Ck Rd (which goes to Mt Sarah) is MVO. However you can go down Tea Tree Range Rd about 14km and double back along a good track to Mt Selwyn. We went on to Mt Sarah helipad - if you had a ladder to see over the snow gums the view there would be great!

From near Mt Selwyn there is a signed route into Wonangatta, or you can go back the 2WD road to Porepunkah.
