I have a query about a drive I am planning.

Does Corn Hill Road from the Mt Stirling Circuit Road connect at Pikes Flat suitably for a 4WD to get though easily enough? Maps are a bit vague on this.

David, Corn Hill track is mostly two wheel drive until you get to the last 500 metres that drops down to Pikes flat. It has a steep red clay section that can be dangerous after rain but easily negotiated in low first by a real 4x4 in the dry. Parks discourage it's use because of the potential danger and that occationally the Howqua river crossing may be running high. The track is officially open and if you are going this easter it will be OK. Craig......................

Coming down the red clay section isnt so bad, when wet, getting up could be though 8-)

Thanks Craig.

This is exactly the information I needed. I had been through there many times years ago on motorbikes but I needed the latest info for a 4WD with the family aboard.
