Just went through the this track from East to West towing a TVan. Very scenic - no trouble with road conditions. It was fascinating to see the varied landscapes from flat a Gibber Desert, gas
well heads in abundance and beautiful dune country. Track was a bit of a maze but adequately
sign posted. Frustrated to be regularly directed off the mining super-highway sections in the east onto rough sandy tracks.
One problem - we were unable to find the Christmas Creek camping spot listed in this article, despite GPS coordinates. the listing dates from 2008 so it way have disappeared in the 2010 floods.
The billabong was dry. Camped nearby in a nice roadside clay pan next to the dune instead.
