Would like some advice on the best route from Spirit of Tasmania, Port Melbourne out of Melbourne to Seymour. We want to avoid Montague Street because of the low bridge!!

The Hema GPS is taking us onto Montague Street on all options.

Google maps takes the 1st exit on the roundabout into Beach Street but I am not sure if the van will make the turn? Toyota Landcruiser Series 200 towing a 20' caravan with a 7' extended draw bar.

We would appreciate any advice before Friday 19th June.

What about Williamstown Rd onto the freeway Geelong freeway then the ring road to the Hume freeway?

Not sure about the Williamstown Rd end maybe someone else can comment?

Here's a map someone did of traveling from the Big4 in Coburg to the Spirit, you can just use the last bit in reverse to get on the freeway, check it on on google earth first.

Gives you another option:

We got off boat last Sunday morning we are towing a 19'6" van and took the first turn in to Beach St and then left and along to the West Gate bridge you will have no problems at all.
Cheers.

I couldn't find my map in haste as we drove off the boat, so I said to my husband "Follow the caravan in front". The unknowing person lead us to the Westgate Bridge and on our way :).

The easiest way to avoid any problems, is to just not leave Tasmania !

Head south on Beach Rd first set of traffic lights turn left into Bay st go down then turn left into Graham st follow that cross over Williamstown rd turn left into Plummer st at the end turn right (signs will say freeway to geelong) this feeds the ramp for Westgate bridge go over bridge and take the Western Ring rd then the Craigieburn bypass onto the Hume freeway.
The last set of lights was at Williamstown rd til you are in Seymour
enjoy
