Is the bridle track (hill end) still closed, have not been up for a few years & is there a weight restriction?

G'day duck.

Unfortunately, the track is still closed, and will be for some time.

The problem is not 'weight' but money it will take so much to fix and had/will have very little traffic when compared to its cost.

Peter.

Look at the work put in to make the track in the early days compared to the cost of a bulldozer to clear the track......some things are just too hard these days....a risk assessment for taking the dozer in, another one on how to make the cliff safe, another one on how to best move the rock and an environmental impact study on the effects of the rock rolling down the hill...

Nope, it will not open for a long time...

Thanks for the quick reply, I didn't think it would re-open & the weight was because I now drive an Isuzu NPS 300 4x4 camper (truck)
I will have to relay on the memory's, 1st did the track back in 1968 & as a kid getting out opening all the gates back then for my dad & a lot opened over the edge a real heart thumper for a kid.

Duck,
I used to go to Hill End regularly in early seventies. Even a few times in a Cooper S and that was a bit of a challenge even via Sofala. I too now have an NPS (SLR camper) and thought I would pass through going from Brisbane to Yass - went in via Mudgee and out through Sofala - tar nearly the whole way! Easy now even in the old Cooper!
