We did it 2 weeks ago and the last 100km or so on the NT side (
Tobermorey area) is probably the worst, the Donahue is like a major highway with road works in full swing.
We did the Sandover on the way
home and I'd rate it better than the Plenty, although
Lake Nash to Urandangie is average LOL
Cheers Kev

Spoke to a guy in
Windorah the other day that brought his on road std caravan through there. Amazingly he made it, just an inch of dust through the van and a broke back windscreen on his 4WD.
But to answer your question he said the road wasn't to bad. As usual the Qld side was the worst, but said there wasn't to much corragation, just a lot of large rocks on the road.
Good luck !!

We did it a few weeks ago. It wasn't too bad.
Watch those sharp rocks on the edge of the road-we shredded our first tyre of the trip just before
Jervois Station!
