Uther, it means that up until last week - there had been only about 4 vehicles along the French Line. West to east is slightly easier at the moment - quite rough between Coulson track and Poepples - very slow also. Plan on MORE than 2 nights out there. Temperatures still high - 18 to 36 (normally should be about 30 max) and absolutely no rain. Sand is very soft and steep blows on tops of dunes(some of these have been knocked over now) and Big Red a very good challenge. Should still be able to drive easily, quietly and slowly over all dunes in H4 and 2500 rpms provided your tyre pressures are low. If you have to back up on any dune - lower your pressure some more. Saves wear and tear on dunes, vehicles and people travelling in and behind. Enjoy the beautiful place and see you when you get here.

Hi Ruth
Any update on how things are drying out (or not) on Walkers Crossing? Also, do you have an update on Warburton Creek crossing? You have responded before to my query on Walkers Crossing and it is our plan (conditions permitting) to travel mid May from Innaminka via Walkers Crossing, south down Birdsville Track to Warbuton Track -KAA Line, Rig Road to Knolls Track and west along the WAA line.
Cheers
Patsy

Hi Patsy, no luck with Walkers or the Warburton I'm afraid - still closed because of the floodwaters. Why are you doing the WAA Line - it's a bit boring. Seems to me that you'll have to come into Birdsville now and see me then go out the QAA etc. Hahahaha. Keep posted though because as soon as it opens I'll advise.
