Just returned my 2 year old Odyssey 1000 battery itbleepit's self. For $400 not happy but they will be replaceing it. They told me when I returned it that they are not happy with the Odyssey batteries some last 4-5 years and others last 6 months. I wonder how long the replacement one will last ?.
Regards Geoff

Yeah when i was checking for a new batt a while ago i was told to be wary of the newer odyssey's because of a high failure rate on them , also told that the optima waranty is very hard to deal with. This was from R&J batteries who we supply with other products, so they don't spin us any shiza. Went with the Delkor marine batt..

I dumped the Odyssey after 18 months of problems - apparently the standard vehicle alternator has problems providing the correct amount of charge.
Swapped over to a Delkor and so far have had no problems.
Shame because the functionality of the Odyssey (i.e. mount anywhere) is great
