My 89 Gq has developed a shudder when slowing to a stop. It is quite violent and i would liken it to the shudder you feel as the motor is about to stall
it is only noticable during the last 5-10m of braking. I have tried braking with the engine switched off and the shudder does not occur which leads me to believe it is not calipers, bearings or bushes. It makes no differrence if I am in gear or out I havent changed anything on the car recently or hit anything. Everthing under the car seems solid, nothing vibrating at idle. Oh yeah, it only does it going forward not in reverse.
Got me buggered! Any ideas?

Jim

If its a petrol engine then I reckon you've got a small hole in your vacumm assisted brake master cylinder.

As for the "not in reverse" bit - coincidence
