Does Glenayle or Carnegie Station (adj to Well 9 CSR) sell fuel ? ULP.

I'm sure that this info is on here somewhere but I can't find it !

Heading back to the Calvert Ra in June.

Fuel is available at Carnegie Station but as far as I know Glenayle doesn't supply fuel. You also need a permit to access Glenayle Station. Check the trek notes on the Gunbarrel & CSR routes. Cheers.

Hi Colin,
as has been said, fuel is available at Carnegie.
A couple of years ago we also were able to get diesel at Granite Peak station.
Its a spectacular drive to Granite Peak, we didn't need to pay for a permit or access fee and you'll hit the CSR near well 5.

If you are planning to go that way you best phone first just to make sure that they have the fuel you need.

Enjoy,
Mike

Thanks for the info chaps - it is what I thought - we will probably go via Carnegie and fill up there, but will take a 200 lt drum in trailer (from Perth) so we can top-up all cars (3 or 4 Foresters) before Well 9 CSR (leave trailer).
The track north of Well 5 was badly corrogated in '01 - so the Glenayle route should be smoother/faster and the extra fuel from drum will mean we will only need to carry one Gerry can each - minimum 600 kms return from Glenayle + 240 to Carnegie (thats is 220 kms less fuel than going from Wiluna). Worst fuel consumption is usually about 8.5 Kms/Ltr.
We might also have a look at Constance Hedland if the fuel thing works out OK.
