I am looking at putting a Safari intercooler on my 96 GQ nissan 2.8 turbo patrol and am interested in hearing from anybody that has done this or any one that knows anything about them do they make any difference. Doug

If you haven't already done so a computer upgrade of your injection system would be far mor beneficial and cheaper than an intercooler.

If you dont mind could you explain what this computer upgrade is as I thought it had a machanical pump on it. Regards Doug

Hi Doug You'r 2.8 Patrol has a mechanical injector pump but
the governor, fuel metering. timing and throttle control is electronic, have a look under the dash at the top end of the accelerator pedal I think you will find that the only connection is a wiring harness to the computer! My main experiance is with 2.8 GU Patrol but I am pretty shure GQ is the same Regards Ken.

The GQ is not the same as GU. No electrics or computers, mechanical pump etc. Am currently looking at the same thing. Will post results when I have got some results. May be a couple of months until all research is completed. Hope this helps.
