From Luke who sold his this week..

The answer is:

A: Take it to a gas dude to get the converter checked and have the mixtures/sensitivity redone

....

and ...

b: They ALL go through petrol like there's no tomorrow 20/100 is common

Proud to say None thanks Uppy.. Was smarter than that. Diesel suits what I want much better.

Dont need a turbo on a diesel either to get up a hill, but with the money I saved on petrol, I did install a turbo cause I wanted to.

I asked Luke who DID own a dual fuel SWB Mav up till last week(hes been on a few trips with people here too), he spent a fortune on that thing, and just had enough of spending..

He has a 2.8 TD GU before that, and was paranoid to scratch and damage it, so got the Mav..

He is now lookin for a Diesel SWB GQ...

Enjoy.

Good for you..
Have a beer and be proud of your accomplishments.

I was already talkin to Luke when I saw this thread. So I talked to someone who has a Petrol Mav. He was online as I was talking to him, is there something wrong with that? Or do I need to have owned everything on earth to have the right to post something here?

Truckster, were those fuel calculations based on a 3.0L 6 Cylinder EFI, the 4.2 Carby or the 4.2 EFI? Was it also tuned to run on gas or just petrol, I was just wondering that's all, it seems a bit weird stating those kinds of figures without explaining how you got them? Uppy travels with me quite frequently and get's some pretty bloody awsome economy out of his school bus. When you consider the extra wieght he is pulling around and the fact that his motor is about 1/3 bigger than mine and is petrol not deisel.

first thig to check would be the condition of the hoses going to the mixer make sure there not blocked in any way.
they might be only a little blocked that will make the mixer overheat and play up but it might not happen straight away thats why it happens when the car is warm.
eg i had 1 semi blocked pipe in my old ltd ant it took about 15 mins before it started playing up same place on the way to work nearly every morning.
