Has anyone used this type of socket?
www.uni-solar.com.au/ARRID/plugs.html
Rated at 20 amp so am looking at for fridges, etc. Look to be O.k. as they fit normal cig' lighter type plugs as well as hella plugs
Any thoughts appreciated

I've been using them for a three years now, and I think they are a very good plug. Particularly the PAP8 & PAP15 . I have heard a few bad reports of the Hella plugs that use the format but have experienced no breakages with the Arrid plugs.

All of the outlets from my second batery use this format. I only use the Universal plugs where I know the equipment is going to be used on a conventional Cig socket, from time to time.

I recommend you use the surface mounted sockets (PASS) instead of the flush mounts because the grip on the plug does not protrude into the space, around it. This protects the plug against knocks.

Thanks, was looking at fitting two, maybe three but wanted something that would run heavier items as well without going to anderson plugs, etc. Will look at further now, thanks for the reply

Was looking at the ARRID sockets in the vehicle as want to have the ability to run several different things, compressor, etc, from different points. Was not looking specifically at running the fridge through one all the time, just now and then. They look better than the anderson plugs as well but I can see the value of the good connection with the anderson's
