max tyre size on rim

Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone knew what the maximum safe tyre size/width was for a 7 inch wide rim. 31x10.5 seem to be no problems but is 33x12.5 stretching it? Or is it more of a case of 'yes it will fit, but there increased chance of rolling off the rim at low psi'?

You can look up the tyre/rim size info on the tyre manufacturers websites. BFGoodrich for instance specifies 7to9 inch wide rims for the 31x10.5R15, and 8.5 to 11 inch wide rims for the 33x12.5R15. So if you stick to the 7 inch wide rims then you have limited choice.
If a tyre is too small for a rim, then rolling it off may be more likely; if a tyre is too wide for a rim, then it will wear in the middle and may not handle too
well. Stick to what the tyre manufactuer recommends.

It all depends on the manufacturer of the tire as to what size rim they recommend.
12.5's on a 7in rim is askin for issues.
I have Simex 11.5's on an 8inch rims they fit perfect.
10.5s will fit
well on an 7inch rim, but again depends on brand.
most states going to 33x12.5's requires an engineers certificate done on the car.
