Hi,
We are contemplating a West-East crossing of the SD in July 05. Having time on our side, the longer
Rig Road seems appealing. I am seeking info on the K1 Line.
There seems to be a lot of info about the other routes but not so much about the K1.
We have a 2003 3.0 L td GU Patrol and will be towing an offroad CT with only 2 POB.

The K1 runs North-South and is a clay topped road - runs in between and parallel to the dunes. At this stage the K1 is closed at the
Warburton Crossing (near Clifton Hills) so you have to come out at
Birdsville. Please note that your SD NP Pass advises you not to tow trailers across the SD. The eastern end of the
Rig Road has very large sand blows on it at the present time and is not easy.
