Hello

I will be going on a trip to NW NSW late July, early August. We are heading to Lightening Ridge, Walgett, Pilliga, Wee Waa. We have not planned the other towns yet.

Can anyone recommend any sites of interest while we are out there?

cbass,

Mt Kaputa National Park just out of Narrabri (in a north-west direction) is definately worth a look (360 degree views). There is also the Australia Telescope just out of Narrabri If you are around Coonabarrabran, the Warrumbungles are also definately worth a look, as is Siding Springs observatory. If you get up as high as Moree there are the hot springs/baths. Lightning Ridge of course has the Opals. They are just a few things around that general area.

cheers,
Sam

Cbass,

Can fully endorse what Sam said about Kaputar. Check out the National Parks Office in Narrabri re other areas of interest. Did some walking up there about 10 years ago and it is truly magnificent.

Just one thing though. NW NSW I thought you meant Tibooburra or Bourke. LR, Wlagett etc may be north but I have to go a long way east to get to any of them

Have a great trip
Duncs
