We have the damnest thing - It sounds like a steel fishing sinker ball running around somewhere under the floor of the jack - Have tried 4 people listening and we cannot even say for sure where it is. May be a fishing ball (I hope) in the centre console area.
A couple of mechanics who I think are looking to make a quid are suggesting it is the gearbox.
Has anyone ever experienced a similar thing?
(It is not consistent - obviously gets stuck somewhere sometimes)
car seems O'K.

HI,

When I saw the subject title I thought HEY! The Ghost sound! We have a weird, eery sounding whining vibration sound that occurs when the Jackaroo is at stand still.

It is the damndest sound and the first time we heard it we thought it was like a spring vibrating. Quite loud too.

Have never bothered to try and find out the why but maybe your ghost steely rolling aorund and our whining steel spring ghost are related?

Regards

Graham
