Its good to see every big mouth gets his/her day. And for once he didnt realy say mutch when it was over.
In my local club there was about 100 people watching it and a big cheer went up when he lost.

All the best
Eric

Only heard the result on this mornings radio (good result I thought).
He said "I thought I out boxed him man"!! obviously he didn't.
Damn I was thinking of putting some money on the Porto too!

Yes - if it wasn't for his mouth and attitude he would be a good bloke. It's a shame that he dosen't try to improve his image because I do beleive that he could be a good role model for a lot of kids, regardless of colour.

Ok ok ok... I agree he has a big mouth and often says things that people dont like hearing, but to say "he would be a good bloke" if his mouth and attitude were different is taking it a bit far. If you know anyone that has ever met him, they will tell you he is a good bloke regardless. I have met him and worked with him at length. He is a genuine nice guy/good bloke. I have also worked with MANY elite athletes and have to be honest and say that not half of them are half as decent as Choc. He says things in front of TV cameras because he is confident (some read that as total arrogance) and more often than not he says things as a wind up. I cant get my head around why alot of people dislike him so much, but then I have heard so many people that know him say the same thing. I personally dont get any joy out of seeing any Australian athlete lose a world title to a foreign athlete. But I guess it takes all kinds... Cheers

"I cant get my head around why a lot of people dislike him so much,"

Ummm, because his public persona (the one that he promotes) is one of aggression and arrogance, and most people (especially Aussies) don't like that. But then, who cares? He doesn't.

I dont agree Rohan. There are plenty of athletes that have an aggressive and arrogant persona, but they arent condemned in the way Anthony is. Must be more to it. But if you are just a regular Aussie guy like me, I am pretty sure if you met him and spent any amount of time with him your attitude towards him would change... Cheers

I don't think he has been, or ever will be forgiven for his initial comments with regard to September 11. The fact that he is arrogant and aggressive simply compounds the public's attitude.

Robb.

You may very well be right but, most people have never had or will have the opportunity to meet him.
He should not complain about his public image when he carries on the way he does.
Just how am I expected to know when its "just a wind up"?
I wish him all the best in the future.

What excuses will the d---head use now for getting beaten. Pity he didn't get knocked out. Has to be the poorest excuse for a sportsperson to ever represent Australia. Pity someone doesn't shut his mouth for good.

I guess we will all have to agree to disagree. I am not going to get into a flame war re whether he is a poor excuse for an athlete or whether he should shut his mouth. I am saddened that not everyone knows the real him, and I am saddened that a few ill-timed and ill-informed comments as well as a few unknown factors has irrepairably swung the public against him. I dont know what excuse he will come up with except he was outclassed. Its the only excuse. Thanks for your constructive input bigfella, but you dont have to go too far past some Cricketers, AFL, RU, and RL players to find some of the saddest examples of not only human behaviour but sports people... Cheers

I'd have to agree with you there Robb - especially our footy (any code) "heros". They rape women (and maybe men for all we know), drive cars when drunk, assault people outside clubs/bars and generally behave in a manner totally unacceptable to the rest of us. Yep, real heros, that lot.

I don't expect that this will make him any more likely to face up to a bout with Danny Green. A shame he wasn't keen , though I suppose that Danny can now fight the Porto and have a crack at the title that way.

I watched it on Mainevent and cheered when he lost , I thought the Porto boy , did well with his comments to offer a re match . When the mic , went to Mundien , I laughed , I thought I won , I thought I won , Well hello , you didnt . Will you accept the remach ? I dont know .

Yes I agree that sometimes , spending time with someone , you see another side to them . I also think that you forgive some of there actions alot easyer also .
