nissan gu rear drive shaft

Which way do you fit a rear drive shaft - is it the slip end to transfer box or the other way? (Meaning the thin end lowest and the fat end highest?)

Checked my gu slip end is definately at rear not near transfer case.Not as truckster says

Hi all,
just went outside and checked mine. Just as Brian said, slip to the rear.On the front its slip to the transfer case.
