Gidday, can anyone tell me how long to transfer fuel from the aux to the main tank.
The last time it the better part of an hour.Could the line between the 2 tanks be blocked slightly????.
Thanks Locallaw

It should not take that long. Never timed mine but at that speed you would nearly run out of fuel. May be 10 to 15 minutes at most.

How do you transfer fuel from one tank to another ? We are talking an 80 series with twin tanks as standard ? I run out the fuel from the sub tank then switch to main tank..switch is standard and on the dash..

I think the diesel & petrol set ups are different, diesels have 2 seperate tanks & lines where the petrol 80 series dumps one to the other........as i said........i think !

Or it could be aftermarket.

Kev's right - in the petrol the fuel transfers from the aux to the main.

Sorry can't answer your question directly as I now have a large aux tank and I can't remember how long it used to take. But if you look in the "manual" that came with the vehicle I'm sure it tells you how many litres per minute it transfers so you can work it out for yourself. It certainly shouldn't take an hour. Also don't forget that it will only transfer until the main is 3/4 full (approx) and then stops.
