The service manual for my RD28T GQ mentions adjusting the dashpot screw when doing your injector pump adjustments (ie they only suggest adjusting the idle, idle up and dashpot). I know about the idle and idle-up, but what does the dashpot screw do?

Don't know what it does in the RD28T but suspect it is a fine tuning mechanism of some sort - check http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=dashpot

Hi John,
Not sure about your vehicle specifically, but a dashpot, as found on petrol vehicles is usually a small diaphragm assembly that prevents the carby from closing too quickly and thus prevent stalling or hunting when taking your foot off the go pedal too quickly. Maybe on yours it does something similar??
Cheers
Gerry
