Greetings, Does anyone know whether the
vermin proof fence East of
Newman can be travelled by 4wd? And if so, what sort of condition is it in?
Burppppp

We crossed the RPF going between Christies Crossing and
Meeting Gorge and Rudal R NP in '97 - if you weren't looking for it you wouldn't see it !
So the short answer is no. - but there may be sections that are visible but I would doubt that you would be able to drive it?

the sections I've seen were barely visible and there definitely was no track either side.
Covers some pretty rough territory and if you came unstuck it could be hazardous.
I've traversed Callawa Rd which crosses RP Fence and wouldn't go near that again.
There's trek notes here in this site if you're interested and I have photos. This is a clearly defined track (
well almost) and I couldn't begin to think how bad it would be travelling the fence line.
You'd need to seek permission from Warrawagine Station and a few others and I can't see them giving it to be honest.
Hope this helps with your query

Many thanks for the info Gents, we are are thinking about a trip (travelling north) to the Ruddall River National Park this year. It doesn't sound like a detour up the RPF is a good way to get there.
It looked Okay in the movie....
Cheers
