Last year I mentioned what I thought was the best vehicle for travelling in Aus.
I tried to import one but MB Aust. refused to help. Any way the dream still lives. If there are any others interested have a look at it. !.5 ton load, 6.5litres/100k. www.iglhaut-allrad.de/bilder/bilder.asp. Know anybody in Germany?
Eric.

Truckster.
The land rover 130 is the closest, but they are very crude compared to the sprinter. Sprinter is silent smooth safe and can carry all you want and still have a better fuel economy than a Barina. Eric.

Eric.
I dont think you looked at the picture, as far as I know there are none in Aus, but if you find one I will pay you handsomly for the unit. There are a few[20] 4x4 vans in Aus, I may have to settle for one of those. Eric.

You can also buy a similar sized 4x4 Iveco van here in Oz, I've seen one crossing the Kowmung up the back of Kanangra Walls.

Yes I drove one, It had a top speed of 90k and sounded like it was about to explode. But it looks good on paper. Eric.

Something that is slower than my Humvee!
Because the military versions are low geared it cruises at 90-95, the speedo tops out at 100k.
As I hardly ever went over 100 and used to sit on 95 in the troopies it doesn't worry me though, funny how you see all those people that blast past at 110+ down the road somewhere.

Mate works for security company, he has 4 in his business them Iveco things, I havent driven one but have been in it numerous times, goes like the powers of bleep when loaded.. Id look at another one.

Also have you driven the sprinter in the config you want? How do you know they arent a POS?

Are they going to be any good for aussie conditions? probably not since they wouldnt have been dreamt of being used out here, or merc would have done it by now..
