How costly/difficult is it to change the diff ratios on a 1981 hilux to make it more suitable for highway driving?

You can just change the centres, there are 3.5, 3.7, 3.9, 4.1, 4.375, 4.5, 4.875 and maybe some other ratios available. You can usually pick them up at an auto parts recyclers for between 250 to 600 each depending on where and what ratio. Basic mechanical knowledge and you can fit them yourself. Mark
