I am thinking of changing the suspension on my 120 series GXL TD Prado. I pull a one tonne camper trailer when on holidays and often pull trailers around the farm and into town. My local 4wd man in Geelong sugested OME suspension. I could choose the spring weight. What spring rate would be best ? Some of you have already done a suspension up grade . What have you done and how is it going ?

I went with OME and tower a 1 ton camper trailer for 25,000km last year - I can't fault them.

Farmer,

I have OME heavy duty on front because I have a Steel Bar and winch and on the rear I have Medium Duty, That combo is fine for all our kids in the back and a Trak Shak camper.

I paid $350 for 4 Terrain Tamer Springs

lifted the front 55mm back 60mm

I have a Steel ARB bull bar and Duel Battery's

I haven't done anything with the shocks as yet, still deciding on Bilstein Vs Tough Dog.

I have OME medium all round. An alloy bar and dual batteries in front.
got 41mm at front 62mm at back increase, and holding after 7,000km
Ride is only marginally harder.
However on very steep decents the front still can dive and hit hard on rough tracks,so it might have been better to have had heavy duty on front.

My local bloke sugested medium all round with OME. One chap said OME were over priced and not that good. He said dobbison (???) shocks were far better ?? Most of the chaps said just doiing the back would look and feel ridiculous ?? The price I have been quoted is $1,400.
