G'day all i went on a short trip on the weekend and going through mud and big puddles i noticed that my oil light was on and my oil gauge was reading just befor max when idling neither changed at higher revs.Do both sensors work of each other or are they both seperate, oil level is ok so i am a little confusedcan one of the sensors be faulty or is a bigger problem than i think it is.At the moment the preassure gauge is reading as normal but the oil light is still on and some times go off or just fade away or just stay on.
Any thoughts or info would be much appreciated
cheers paul

Hi Paul
The gauge and light use the same sensor unit.
These are known to give problems, and a new unit usually fixes the problem.
Also while the sensor is out fit a test gauge to the port for a good reference.
Hope this helps

They have a habit of dying when they get full of shiat.. you can WD40 it or just replace it, nissan have an upgraded one now.
