Good morning all
We are planning on going to Lake Elphinstone in rwo weeks time and I need information on road conditions from:
Belyando to Mt Coolan and
Mt Coolan to Lake Elphinstone
Has any body been in this area recently?

Hi Peter
Hopefully someone with recent experience will respond, but we did these roads last year, and they were generally OK. First section (
Bowen Dev Rd) was rougher/rockier than second section (Suttor Dev Rd), latter was a bit narrower and windier though. Around Lake Elphinstone is bitumen. Was a fair bit of mining exploration going on when we went through (presumably for coal seam gas) but that's probably gone now.
As ever, will depend on timing of most recent grading and weather.

I will give the Mt Coolan Hotel a call next week, hopefully they may be able to give me an idea of how the road is now.
