Hi all.

I've got an old 9kg gas cylinder that I'm thinking of converting into a "cooker" (forgotten the right word). Can anyone help me with instructions on how to achieve this?

I also have an old larger cylinder from a fork lift and wonder if it's any use converting this also.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

John

The common term is choofer or choofa. Go to the Caravaners Forum there are more than 700 mentions of choofer on that forum. Some good instructions and designs.

I bought one of these from the Batemans Bay Mens Shed, and I am sure you will get a few ideas from the attached link.

I'll save my 999 words, as they never seem to be enough.
The pegs drilled through the fire-box at different levels supporting the pot are tent pegs. The legs screw into nuts welded to the bottom.
The cylinder was originally Galv and not painted.
Hope this can help.
Cheers, Bob
