My Shop Item Rating: My Rating 5/5

I've owned a SPOT3 now for about six months while I have been crossing Aus from WA to NSW. It has been on and tracking for around 10,000km over that time, probably about one full day per week. I also pop it in the backpack when I go treking on foot. The map on EOTrackMe is great and shared to my family, and having the SOS and personal help call buttuns are a great peace of mind although I haven't needed to use them.
Apart from the faultless performance of the unit, the thing that has really amazed me is that the SPOT3 is still running on the original set of batteries supplied with it! Because of this incredible battery life I've never bothered plugging it in. I'm not sure how they have managed it because the device is not only continually tracking via GPS, and it is transmitting a location to a satellite over 600km away every few minutes.
Overall, I'm very, very impressed with this device. Once set up, it 'just works'. As others have said, an essential part of a safe travelling kit.
