Hi all,
I have a Jayco Dove OB with a 90lt 3-way fridge. Based on info from this site I fitted a small fan to the upper external vent which helped the efficiency of the fridge quite a lot. I fitted it with a manual switch but would like to add a thermostat.
My question is what temp thermostat would be best suited to this set up?
Thanks in advance for any info
Cheers

Never done it myself, always use a switch. A friend in the Van Club did and used a 50 degree thermostat.

Thanks Notso. 50 rings a bell for some reason.

Basically it needs to be slightly higher than the expected max ambient temperature
your likely to encounter, ie if you intend to travel north in summer then 25C wouldn't be
any good as the fan would be running most of the time, 40 would probably be ok as the fridge would most likely be running continuously at that ambient any being a 3 way type. Another method you could use to determine the required range would be to turn the fridge on after it has been off for a few days let it run for an hour or so then measure the temperature near were the pipes leave the heater and use that as a guide to the temperature required.
