Hi Everyone
I'm searching the net looking for contact details for Caravan Parks in
Nyngan,
Charleville and
Longreach. I was wondering if any of you seasoned travellers on locals could recommend one or more parks in these towns. Will be travelling through in late July on the way to the Cape. There will be 7 fourbys (3xPatrols, 2xDiscos, 1xPrado and 1xRodeo) three vehicles will be towing trailers and the rest of us will be tenting it. Any suggestions on the best campgrounds in these towns?
Cheers
Pete

Havent got contact details but suggest you book ahead at
Longreach(3 parks) as last year we arrived about 1500 and all 3 parks were booked out. There is ( was) a
free camping area on the northen side of town by the river but this was so crowded that we ended up in a motel for the night.

In
Nyngan the
Riverside caravan park on the western edge of town on the
Broken hill road is the go, we've been staying there regularly for over 20 yrs. You can ring and organise for a group, they let you have a fire!(it gets cold, take wood though), have a campers kitchen. there are cabins if the tenters want to slum it and you can either
camp in the park proper or 'bushcamp' down on the edge of the river or anywhere in between depending on how far you want to walk to the amenities.
I'll second the info on
Longreach, also big probs with tourist coaches (noise, coach
camp in the middle of caravan park)
charleville can also be busy as the
grey nomads will be on the move

I agree with Bob, I was there last year in July and it was hot, but a nice CP.
Longreach doesnt have much, if you can't get in there try
Barcaldine. If you look at the Big4 or Top Tourist web sites they may help, as
well as RACV accomm guides. The Big4 and Top Tourist sites can be accessed from my website on the main page.
Cheers

Hi there - in Queensland go to the Caravan Industry Association website on:
www.qparks.asn.au and they will give you the member parks. Good trip.

Try Nardoo station, 30 minutes north of
Cunnamulla, a great
camping area on a large cattle station, good amenities , even a hot spring to swim in.
We always
camp there on our way north.
