Nissan Patrol - GU7 versus GU8

Hi all.
Son-in-Law looking for a larger 4WD to tow their camper trailer. Like the idea of an auto diesel Nissan ST series around 2012 with bi-fold doors at the back. Single fold like Prado or Mitsubishi won't open fully when trailer attached.
Can anyone advise main difference between the GU7 and the GU8.
Also, any major problems with engine or transmission with this series.

As far as I know it is still a GU Mk2 Y61 model. Lots of minor mods so they may have identified them in some way by a series number??
There were improvements to the engine and gearbox from the original 3.0 litre model in 2000. There were gearbox issues in the early models, 5th gear. There were engine issues in the early versions as
well. By 2007/8 they had ironed out most of the issues. Common Rail injection was introduced in 2007 as
well.
I loved
mine when I had it. A 2000 model with all the problems. I never experienced the engine issues but the gearbox was rebuilt under warranty.

GU7 has a LSD in rear with no ABS, GU8 has ABS and rear locker.

ABS is in my GU6 so should also be in a GU7

I had ABS in my prior 2003 3.0GU, it was an option at the time.
