Hi there,
We keep blowing this headlight (either that or it turns itself on and off...) and have heard from one place that this is common.... It might be common but does anyone know how to fix it?? Gremlins
Thanks

Hi Karen
Check all the earth points, remove, clean, and refit
Also
check the earths for each individual light unit

Sounds like a bad connection and or a short somewhere.
Not common AFAIK.

Thanks for that. Will look tonight. Just had the bloody thing serviced (at a cost of 6k) and the last thing we expected was the alternator to blow up and then this... growl

Yeh,
I keep blowing that head light too, about every three to five years or so....
Seriously, if it's a halogen H4 bulb and blows then maybe you need to
check your alternator output voltage.... or maybe you've touched the globe with your fingers. That is a no-no. Also do NOT get cheap bulbs- most are garbage.
Cheers

Yes 6K is what I said.
We had the following done
OME
suspension
removal of gas system and replaced with long
ranger fuel tank
snorkel
disk rotors
all axle seals
2nd battery (the system was already in)
2nd outlet for fridge in rear of car
major service (all oils changed)
Yay we thought we were on the road and ready for
Cape York but guess what? the light blew again and THEN the alternator... the bloody thing didn't even make it out of the garage... does anyone know a decent mechanic for fourbys in
Canberra area?
