Hi all, I have a 1990 Toyota coaster hz diesel 400000k this has happened twice I creep up a steep 3 or 4 km hill in 2 & 3 gear when I get to the top no power none I wait five or ten minutes and away we go no stopping it plenty of power. I said this has happened only twice but I haven't used it much. Any advice would be welcomed. Thanks Peter s42

Peter

The first thing to check would be the fuel filters, including the in tank strainer, also the fuel cap vent (try loosening the fuel cap and checking for any air flow whilst doing so).

Some Toyota's also have a sintered bronze strainer at the fuel pump inlet which can also cause fuel starvation.

Hope this helps
