The engine and auto transmission are Mercedes Benz in those I think. Perhaps a Mercedes specialist can help? I use Mercedes parts places for my diesel Jeep because they are cheaper. :-)

I think the the transmission may be an Oz one. Look at this bit about Drivetrain Systems International. In the text you will see "Drivetrain Systems International was formed following the purchase of the Lavington gearbox factory, built in 1971, from the ION Group in 2004. In 1997, the factory produced gearboxes for SsangYong, which became the DSI's largest customer following the cessation of Ford's patronage in 2011"

Looking up the specs, the auto is supposed to be Benz and the manual Borg Warner.

G'day Barry K1 , I do not know where you are located but the problem with the transmission is not in the Transmission .It is most likely caused by the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) . This is a common fault and if you know what you are looking at you may be able to fix it or get a new one .
Join the SsangYong Owners Club of Australia there is tons of knowledge on there .
