You may suggest he ask North Burnett Regional Council about how their low cost camping is going at Biggenden, regarding the amount of money coming into the town.
The council runs the caravan park and I would think they control the $5 a night self contained camping at the old rail yard.
They have a good van park $20 a night and it competes with the $5 a night spot in town. The park also has 3 cabins outside the fence for truck drivers /pilots and a large
parking area for those trucks and oversize.
Big thumbs up to the council.

What was a Council caravan park in Murgon, has now been made a
free camp, and the number of campers there a couple of months ago was unreal. The info centre placed a tin on the wall of the loo for campers to put there receipts in, so they could judge what sort of money was being spent in the town, the report i got from the info centre was that they couldn't believe what was spent, all because the
camp was FREE.

I would like to know what is being asked for in the meeting. If it is more self contained camping sites then the representation will be on behalf of a minority of the camping/caravaning community. The more areas that are designated as self contained the more the "struggle street" component, which is by far the greatest proportion, are disadvantaged. It also discriminates against all people who
camp out of their vehicle in tents and those with camper trailers. I can't understand why this sector of the community are not screaming their heads off about what is going on.
Cheers,
Kevin

The subject of being self-contained did not even arise! All we were asking for was closer overnight/ 2 nights stays close to town with a small charge. The meeting with Mal was informative & he agrees that the area between the 2 bridges would be perfect.
Toilets, coin showers, another
dump point collection box for shopping dockets, someone to collect fees.
To get things moving it has to be with a majority vote at a council meeting & at the moment thagt is not happening.
