Yes
well that's the beauty of being an Aussie, you have free choice! We all have the choice to stay in our van or tent and enjoy our own company.

Like some of irrelevant threads here, you have the choice not to bother to read them!

That cracks me up Shaker, whilst sitting around a campfire you have an opportunity to get advice on different things, much the same as posting on a
forum. Your choice as to gauge the validity of the advice in both, the difference is not to many people come out and call anyone a bloody idiot or such whilst sitting in the presence of another around a campfire. They wouldn't have the balls to do so.
A
forum is open season, that is my experience anyway,
Then again we don't hang out in caravan parks, so the two may be similar for all I know.

Very true, but I'm not complaining about it.. Just making a comment, as I'm free to do in this great free land of ours!

It wasn't in reference to your post, it was just a generalisation.

Like Patrol owners stating that there aren't any problems with the 3l engine, or the 100 series TD Cruiser owners that tow 3.5t at 95km/hr and get 11.5 L/100km.....

Oh I say that sounds a bit high for a LC100TD. I often find that I have more fuel in the tank at the end of a day than when I started.

Only ever went to Happy Hour a couple of times. On both occasions it seemed to be nothing more than a @#$%ing competition among some of the blokes who liked to dominate the conversation. Haven't been to one since. Many people love them and good ion them, its just something I'm not in to.

You don't even have to go to Happy Hour. We were touring Corroboree Billabong in a tour boat, spotting giant crocs, when the main outboard gearbox failed, and the lady couldn't start the auxiliary - so we were stranded, until a rescue boat arrived.
Within 5 mins of the outboard failures, the contest between who had the better 4WD, and who had the best caravan started. And it didn't even need any alcohol to get it going! [;-)

Went to a CP Happy Hour a few years back and it was an OK affair although some were taking the lead and blah, blah, blah about how good their rig was and how widely they travelled.
Couldn't get a word in until I announced mid stream that I was into wife swapping (the good wife was with me) and the crowd seemed to quieten. Quickly added that I was after a Honda generator as a swap and after the dust settled with the Princess we had a pretty good night.
Still looking for that generator and the wife remains.
I also ensure on all travels that I leave all idiot magnets at
home.
