Does anyone know what the possible problems are when the reset button keeps tripping when an engel is swiched on?

Possible reverse polarity or short circuit.

Hi Brian

You have not said what trips out, in your house or in your vehicle, on 240 v or 12 v, as there is no reset button on Engel fridges.

Depending on how old your Engel is, there is a 10a blade fuse on later models, as well as a 10a fuse in the cigarette lighter plug on the end of your 12 v power lead.

Cheers

More info please. As others have said.

Is it "tripping" on 240 or 12V? What is tripping - a circuit breaker or fuse and where is this circuit breaker or fuse?

We can' possibly give you a good answer without this info. Or we could guess and that may be wrong.
