Hard luck story (Both cars owned by the same bloke!).
Darren Green and Sandy Bowman rolled their GQ SWB and the wives to the rescue, they have to jump in the car and drive a trailer up tonight and tow the bloody thing back!!!

THEN..

On the way to pick up Sandy and Darren, apparently Allison (Sandys Missus) got almost all the way there then Darren's Missus's Injected 5L GQ she was driving... burnt completely to the ground!! All passengers OK so I hear. Fire got so hot that there is nothing salvagable, it even melted the springs into coil bind

NEWSFLASH!!

PROTESTS ARE IN!!

****************NEWS FLASH-HOT OF THE PRESS******************

UTTER CONFUSION REIGNS AFTER OBC PRESENTATION AGAIN!!!!!!!!

Hearing rumours of many unhappy competitors storming out of presentation and of a few teams putting in protests due to results that just don't add up.

Many teams back at the caravan park standing round involved in dicussions and comparisons of previous years.

I know this is disappointing and a bit of a downer on the event but I'm just repeating what I've been told and thought you all would be interested in whats going on.

Will post updates as I hear them.

More on protests from Outerlimits

I also hear that the protests are about people having points on their route card that is different from the finished results and not about any particular position. It has in the past been a very hard thing (scoring) to understand and will probably go on being so in the future. It's a pitty as it probably spoilt the end of a fantastic week for some.

Bonz - Be there next year

No-one stormed out - I was there, and if there are protests then the scorer will sort them out I reckon.

On a side item Alison Grant and Alison Greens misfortune with Sandy and Darrens vehicle was met with a donation from Andy Brown (Mr ARB) of $2000 along with a whip around at the presentation which realised $1250 cash for Darren and Alison. They also auctioned off the original Outback challenge banner and got another $750 whoch was donated to Darren and Alison to help get them back on their motoring feet.
