Just read in the newsletter that VIP tickets have gone on sale for next year's bash. General admin prices are not listed. How much were tickets for this years bash?

Thanks

Can't remember the exact amount Dunc, but was about $250-$280 per ticket. Different rates for families too.

We were lucky, got a cheap rate because we live in a droughted shire, about $215, or thereabouts.

Don't know what VIP tickets mean, unless it's extra merchandise?

Doesn't really matter where you are at the venue Dunc. I camped 500M from the stage, and I could hear everything. Probably more atmosphere the closer you get to the stage. Bloody cold at night! Recommend beanie, warm, wind proof jacket, long trousers/trackies and gloves. Gloves stop your hands getting colder while holding one's beverage.

Worth going though. All about location, location, location!

Thought I read where it'll be a 3 day event in 2016. Probably why costs have increased?

Be getting a bit sick of camel pies after 3 days though, :-)

Ha ha, just joking Rob.

Had a couple of beef ones on the way out(gotta support my old industry), but did try a lamb shank one at the venue.......oh, and a curried camel, of course. :-). Otherwise didn't eat much at night.

Didn't try the rabbit.....prefer my bunny baked, with bacon.

Agree, but if it's going to be a 3 day event then day rate is comparable with a City concert.

Hi Dunc, Tom Jones is coming to Hobart, tickets start at $449 when you factor in the underwear costs the ladies like to sling up there at him, you're looking down the barrel at $500 easy.
Cheers.

So you going to factor in a $50 pair of bum warmers for Mrs Kanga to hurl at the old Welsh warbler? LOL
We've seen him twice and he definitely hasn't got better with age.

Cheers

We'll be first timers at the bash next year - can anyone who has been previously tell me how far the camp area is from the performance area?
I note a previous post in this thread in which a person said they were camped about 500metres away - does that indicate you just grab a spot as near as you can get, or are some people so far away they have to drive to the stage area?
Thanks.

Wildmax,

As the stage and audience area are up against Big Red, everything else is to the east of this.

There's the Bash "office" and catering outlets, toilet trailer and wifi setup, along with a service road(not for public). Then the corporate/club camp areas roped off. To the east of this are a number of "roads" running east/west, from a main north/south thoroughfare. You are allowed to camp anywhere you wish in this latter area.

My advice, as a one time Basher, but long time bushie, is too camp as far to the east as you can! You'll get a cleaner camp, and maybe less neighbours(but that's doubtful). The dust in the corporate camps was everywhere, very, very dusty. It's an easy walk up to the stage, and there are no parking facilities near the stage anyway. If you don't have a porta potti, you might have to camp a bit closer to the porta loos. They suggest they might increase the number of porta loos for 2016.Toilets were very popular this year, and there were often queues at each one...........imagine 6-8 porta loos in a line, each with 6-10 eager customers standing in line. Not nice if your were a bit........err, loose that day. Glad I took my porta potti!

It's a great event, hope you enjoy it. We have another important event on at that time, otherwise we'd see you there.

Thanks for the advice Bob, and will have a look at your thread. We have booked along with some friends and really looking forward to it - have done the Simmo and been to Birdsville a couple of times including the races, but really looking forward to this event based on all I've heard about it.
Cheers
