am about to fit a 8''thermal fan to a 3lt gu4 patrol intrecooler has anyone any advice as to how to mount this fan.
my 2nd problem seems to be a small loss of coolant around the the top of sump, about 2 drops. at this stage haven't had a good look, have run truck to temp, then left for half hour no fluid. then leave overnight and very small stain on concrete next morning. does not appear to leak under pressure. has been suggested might be a hose clip as metal cools. car at panel
shop at moment (some fool backed into me ). just wondering where to look when i get it back.many thanks for any advice recieved bill

hi
u need to pressurize cooling system hot and cold including the radiater cap . The method of waiting till there is coolant stains on the ground is risky . The leak has obviously be happening for a while.
Many areas under the clamp [alloy ,plastic, copper fittings] are very shiny and need roughing up with emery tape . Most modern vehicles need to be on a hoist to examine all hoses and fittings [far easier diagnosis ]. water pump ,head gasket ,welsch plugs ,radiator tanks rule nothing out .
hope this helps

Hi Bill,
I suggest you look on the
Patrol 4x4 forum, it is very extensive in its coverage of all things to do with Patrols.
