We camped by Lake Wallace at Wallerawang this weekend and have to say it was very good. It's free with a maximum 72 hour stay, acres of flat grass, toilets and hot showers. Please spend some money in the town if you try it as the aim is to bring more business into the town. The pub and bakery do great food.

Yes plenty of trees around. When we were there last weekend there were probably 15 vans/motor homes sprinkled around the area mostly in the trees. There's lots of unshaded parkland style open space as well. Being Lithgow, you need the sun all year except mid summer. It's a chilly town.

It used to be listed as no camping but has just recently been opened up according to our information from a local. I'll have to check with someone and report back, I don't want to give anyone a bum steer.

Oh yeh, Lithgow might not be the end of the world, but you can see it from there !!

If there are heaps of grey nomads there, then it's open as far as I'm concerned !!

One possible Major problem is they lock the Toilets and Showers at 4 p.m. on Weekdays and 6 p.m. on Weekends. Open the next day at 7 a.m. Could be uncomfortable if you need them.
