Did you know unleaded fuel is all same colour now. Caught me i was using red colour of unleaded to help me keep track of different fuels. Since I now have five different fuels in shed. Different colour containers on solve half problems.

Doesn't surprise me as all our fuel is unleaded and has been since 1986 - no leaded fuel since then.

Does that include Opal as sold across central Australia Ian? That was uncoloured whereas ULP were purchase here was coloured with purple.
Our daughter messaged me while refuelling the quad bike when we were shearing to say "Since when did they change the colour of ULP - this is PINK". She wasn't game to use it until I confirmed that it really was ULP we had recently put into the jerrycan.

Ulp used to be purple then they changed it to red with pulp being yellow now since 1 oct 2015 both are undyed (
well when they used up stocks) which makes both colourless to very pale straw....

That explains the change from Purple to Pink for ULP (in 2013), with PULP remaining yellow Ian.
Have you found anything on removal of colour coding now, and why this has occurred?

Basically sounding like a bad idea.
I can see the unscrupulous taking advantage for lack of dye & selling some not quite Premium Unleaded.
PITA too, as sometimes friends will bring us a drum of fuel for the boat, and have had an occasion where some bought what was not yellow.
Would have been the end of the weekend if this was un-noticed and it had went in the tank.

C'mon Phil, where's your trust?
Do you really think big business, or collusion between a supplier and a retailer, would result in the consumer being ripped off?
Nah, wouldn't happen.

Boat fuel is the biggest concern.
The lazy low revving torquey old 400 Chev screams blue murder if it's not fed 95.
Could have been caught out on a few occasions in the past when people have filled some of my drums unknowingly to me.
Had the opportunity to spot the pink in the siphon hose & pull up.
