Hi Guys N Gals

Just a couple of quick questions regarding the new RG Colorado

1. is the alternator a constant out put alternator or a variable type? if Variable is there a simple fix to make it constant output
2. is the Bringo sat nav as bad as it appears via the one month trial app for your phone or is it better and easier to use once it is connected to the mylink?

I have asked these questions of holden, and the dealers eyes glazed over and I got two different answers from there service department regarding the alternator

Thanks in advance Peter...

The Redarc BC/DC Charger Web site states that until 2014 they have a Fixed Voltage Alt, may pay to Google or contact Redarc.

The 2015 RG Colorado has no major technical or engineering advances over the previous model - the drivetrain is identical, and it still uses a fixed voltage alternator.
Things may change with the new Euro 6 emissions regulations that are coming in around 2017/2018 - but at present, the Colorado doesn't have the ECU controlling the alternator output via the CANBUS, as in some of the more hi-tech vehicles such as Range Rovers.

Cheers, Ron.
