Apple Repair Program for
Affected Models
MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2011)
MacBook Pro (15-inch, Late 2011)
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2012)
MacBook Pro (17-inch Early 2011)
MacBook Pro (17-inch Late 2011)
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15 inch, Early 2013
These models have a problem with distorted video, black and blue screens which result in crashes and computer rebooting.
Apple will repair the fault which is caused by the video chip overheating at no cost as long as the MacBook Pro fits into the range of computers known to have the fault. They replace the full logic board in the laptop.
