Bit of discussion on this very subject, Doug, just back a bit. Thread: 131111

From my use of it, the new search thingy doesn't seem to work as well as the old one. About the only negative I've found with the new format.

Merry Christmas old fellar,
Bob

Hello

Type in the thread number as you appear to have done..then hit the enter button on your key board.

I just did it using the number you provided and it worked fine - thread 78683 appeared.

If this still doesn't work then you will have to provide more info (browser, device etc)
It has been established that not using latest browsers updates could be a problem.

Cheers
Greg

Indicates problem is not with website . It is your end. (given it works for me and apparently many others)

So as previously requested - what browser are you using and is it the latest version? Don't be shy.

Cheers
Greg

I'm sure ou may have seen the Magnifying glass quick search box, as described in other thread.
But just in case . . .

Click this Magnifying glass symbol on ANY page from within ExplorOz . . .

And the drop down box appears, click on the window where the red X is shown, and type any text and the enter . . .

Oddly the standard search worked for me (took me straight to the thread as it should, which is nice) but the quick search magnifying glass returned nothing but the 'why aren't you a member' banner. Same whether logged in or out.

Prefer to use google with exploroz.com in the search parameters anyway but this ^^^ suggests to me that there may be a glitch somewhere in the code.

Site was running like AustPost at 3.40pm today in case David needs to know.

?

Was referring to internet browser version/brand not operating system version - they are different things.

Has problem solved itself - thread is hard to follow.

Cheers
