hi everyone,
does anyone have a solution to noisy sqeaky fan belts,on 4.2 td. Have tried 'belt grip' etc, but limited effect. Thought it might be the belt tensioner, does it have a sealed bearing, or can it be lubricated. Truck has done 95000k original belts
REGARDS

Try silicone 808 spray if that doesnt help you can try soap etc but probaly have to replace the belts (put on you spares and keep the old ones for spares if they are in good nick)

Bill,
Not sure about the 4.2 motor, but on the 3.0td there is only 1 belt, anyway
mine was sqeaking, tride the lube on it, no change, bought a new belt and fitted it...no change, had the tensioner replaced (under warranty) ...no more sqweak.
